WASHINGTON: You must defend home ice to advance in the post-season, but the Washington Capitals were unable to bounce back from from Wednesday's 4-3 defeat, falling to New York 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Verizon Center.

This loss puts a sour taste in the Capitals mouth, considering Washington trails in the best-of-seven series 2-0, and the next two games are in New York at Madison Square Garden.

Henrik Lundqvist has been stellar in this series, saving 67 of 70 shots Washington has taken against him. Simeon Varlamov got the nod over Jose Theodore in game two, but lack of offense stood out instead of a great game in goal for the 20-year-old.
