Brian Burke Kills Luke Schenn Trade Rumors

Brian Burke, president and general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, went on The FAN 590 today to kill the rumor that defenseman Luke Schenn will be traded in an attempt to get John Tavares in the NHL Entry Draft.

Yesterday, Sportsnet reported that if the Leafs wanted to move up to No. 2, the deal would have to include Schenn and defensemen Tomas Kaberle.

Burke said that trade was never made by him or discussed with him. He also said, "Luke Schenn isn't going anywhere," and tabbed Schenn as a future captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He also pointed out it would be like paying $17 million to get the second pick in the draft.
