Oakland rookie Trevor Cahill pitched well on Saturday, but once again didn't pick up the victory.

Fortunately for him, the A's rallied for a 3-2 win over the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field.

Cahill, making his fifth career start, is still seeking his first major-league victory.

The right-hander, who took a no-hit bid into the seventh inning on April 12 against the Mariners, this time allowed just one run in his six innings of work.

Russell Branyan's second-inning homer was the only run given up by Cahill, who was lifted with the score 1-1.

The Mariners took a 2-1 lead in the seventh inning on Endy Chavez's sacrifice fly, but the Seattle bullpen couldn't hold it.
