Johnny Gomes was called up today replacing Darnell McDonald who was designated for assignment, thank you God.
The Reds also optioned Ramon Ramirez back to AAA for right handed reliever Carlos Fisher.
Edinson Volquez was placed on the 15-day DL and Homer Bailey was recalled to take his place. Certainly Edinson Volquez on the DL is nothing I’ve ever prayed for, but I’m excited to see if Homer is ready for the big leagues. He looked fantastic in spring training and, after a bad start in AAA, has pitched quite well in his past six starts.
