Bobby Scales: What Major League Baseball Should Be About

Can you gain something out of a loss? Well I sure did. I watched newly brought up Cubs second basemen Bobby Scales play his first Major League game at the age of 31. Not only that, I realized something, this is what baseball should be about.

Scales spent 11 years in the Minor Leagues before putting on the Chicago Cubs uniform. 11 years! Talk about heart.

Scales stat line for yesterdays game was 1-4, 1 R, and a single, his lone hit coming off of last years Cy Young winner, Tim Lincecum. It wasn't about stats though, after he got his first hit, he stood on first base and just let out a big sigh of relief. You could tell that this moment will be one of the most memorable.
