Bonderman Struggles as White Sox Defeat Tigers to Split Doubleheader

Jose Contreras' return to the major leagues proved to be more fruitful than Jeremy Bonderman's return from the disabled list as the Chicago White Sox easily defeated the Detroit Tigers 6-1, in the second game of a day-night doubleheader.

Contreras gave up a ground rule double to Clete Thomas in the first inning, but no other hits as he pitched eight strong innings to earn his first win of the season. 

Earlier in the year, the White Sox sent Contreras and his 0-5 record to the Charlotte Knights to work on his mechanics.  For Charlotte, Contreras was 3-1 with a 2.70 ERA in five starts.
