Cardinals-Nationals: Mitchell Boggs Impresses But Isn’t a Factor

The St. Louis Cardinals continued their dramatics on Thursday as they rallied to defeat the Washington Nationals 9-4.

Scoring five runs in the top of the ninth inning, the Nationals bullpen seemed to show shades of St. Louis' from 2008 by imploding on themselves.

Their stadium currently still stands, but that was a horrible outing for them. Recently demoted closer Joel Hanrahan and former Cardinal Julian Tavarez helped contribute to the meltdown.

All in all, the Cardinals scored on a combination of three hits, two walks, a hit batsman and a balk. One of those hits was from recently called-up rookie Tyler Greene.
