Dom DiMaggio, Dead at 92: A Sad Day for the Baseball World

Red Sox Nation and the rest of the Baseball World has lost a dear friend today.

Former MLB Centerfielder, Dom DiMaggio, younger brother of Yankee Legend Joe DiMaggio, has passed away at the age of 92.

DiMaggio was a seven-time All-Star for the Red Sox who was known as the "Little Professor" for those dorky looking eyeglasses.

Dom played 11 years for the Sox missing three seasons serving for the Navy in World War II.

DiMaggio also had a few hitting streaks that could have propelled him above his bi brother, if not for Joe catching a liner on August 9, 1949.

Regardless Dom DiMaggio was a well liked and well respected member of the baseball community that will be greatly missed.
