The Baltimore Orioles made the top headline on Tuesday, with the announcement that they will be promoting their top prospect, Matt Wieters, on Friday. The announcement was made by team president Andy MacPhail.
“He's made the progress, the power's starting to come...It's time. It's time," MacPhail said.
Wieters has had a good season thus far for Triple-A Norfolk, batting .305 with five home runs and 30 RBI through 39 games. He also received the Brooks Robinson Award as the Orioles’ Minor League Player of the Year last season.
