Jerry Manuel, New York Mets’ Manager, Should Be Feeling Heat

A charming smile and a quick wit can only get you so far in New York. Mets' Manager Jerry Manuel has been adored by his players, the fans, and the media in his brief tenure in the Big Apple, but if he doesn't get the Mets playing better baseball, he might well find himself in the same position as Willie Randolph was last year.

After two straight years which ended on the last day of the season thanks to back-to-back historic collapses, it was almost essential for Manuel and his new coaching staff to get the team off on the right foot this year. 

The acquisitions of Fransisco Rodriguez and J.J. Putz were supposed to put this 2009 installment of the Mets over the top, but so far it looks as if this Summer...
