He has proven to be an old-time slugger who should be feared by all pitchers in the American League. The man is a certain hall of famer and I think he will be better appreciated when he is retired.
There are very few class acts like Mr Thome. He is en route to 600 home runs in his career, as I am sure he will light up Chicago White Sox opponents for his usual 35-40 home runs a season.
It is always good for a team to have a future hall of famer on their roster even if it is a player who is winding down his career.
