Kevin Gregg and Carlos Marmol: Chicago Cubs Closer Report

So far in 2009, the Cubs closer situation has been an enigma. The Cubs are considered one of the richest teams in win expectation, so their closer is highly valued. So far it has been a back and forth battle between Kevin Gregg and Carlos Marmol.

Everyone expected the job to be Marmol's, but instead Gregg got it. Kevin Gregg then had problems and injuries and Marmol got the chance to take the job. He failed. He has two blown saves and several other bad outings. So far the two closers have five saves, Marmol two and Gregg three. Gregg secured his last save yesterday.
