Mets Take Advantage of Baltimore Miscues in 6-4 Win

Once again defensive mistakes have majorly impacted the outcome of a New York Mets game.

This time the Mets got the benefit and defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 6-4.

Neither team had recorded a hit before the first big error. After Fernando Martinez reached on a walk to lead off the fourth, Brian Roberts booted a sure double-play ball off the bat of Carlos Beltran.

Consecutive singles by David Wright and Ryan Church brought home Martinez and Beltran to put the Mets up 2-0. Daniel Murphy and Brian Schneider each picked up an RBI in the four-run fourth. Mike Pelfrey came out of the gates strong and did not allow a hit until a two-out single by Nick Markakis in the fourth.
