Miguel Tejada Leads All-Star Voting…Whoopee, Says This Astros Fan

Congratulations to Miguel Tejada for leading the All-Star voting. Yes, I love the Houston Astros and bleed blue and orange (their original colors and not their lousy, ugly current black, brick and sand). That being said, I still won't watch. Let's face it...if Tejada gets in, it'll be because he's, well, Miguel Tejada, not because he's a shortstop for the Houston Astros.

If playing in Houston were that prestigious, Scott Boras would've worked it to allow Carlos Beltran to re-sign with Houston instead of heading to the New York Mets.

Besides, the All-Star game is a mostly-meaningless* popularity contest. I know that, and you know that.

* Yes, I know the winner gets home-field advantage in the World Series,...
