Randy Johnson showed he can still dominate hitters.
After getting off to a rough start with the Giants, the Big Unit threw seven one-hit innings, racking up seven strikeouts. Johnson earned career win No. 296, which was especially sweet coming against Arizona—a franchise he played with for eight seasons.
The Giants scored their runs on a Travis Ishikawa sacrifice fly and a bases-loaded double play. Bob Howry pitched a perfect eighth before Brian Wilson threw a 1-2-3 ninth.
