When the Mets acquired J.J. Putz and Jeremy Reed in the deal that sent Endy Chavez and Aaron Heilman out of town, they also received a certain right-handed pitcher who they thought would serve as the replacement for Joe Smith, who was also included in the deal.

While it is still early in the season, Green is showing way too many signs of being just like Heilman, and last night’s outing did nothing to help his cause.
