Nick Swisher Pitches Shutout Frame for the New York Yankees

While nothing seemed to go right for the New York Yankees on Monday night, their lone bright spot was a shutout inning thrown by Nick Swisher. In their 15-5 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays, Swisher was asked to take the mound in the eighth inning and as it turns out, he was the only Yankee pitcher to not allow a run in the game. He also homered in the game.
The last time Swisher pitched was when he was a freshman in high school, according to Yahoo. “I had fun with it. When am I ever going to have a chance to do that again? Probably never. We know we didn’t play very well. Got to find something to laugh about in that moment. I just happened to be the guy.”
