Oliver Perez and the Ever-So Convenient “Injury”

In recent days, people have been talking about what the right move for Oliver Perez would be. Some of the options that have been discussed are a demotion to Triple A, putting him in the bullpen or even asking him to move lower in this system than Triple A to try to get his game back.

After it became seemingly certain that the Mets were going to put him in the bullpen, it was revealed to us that Oliver Perez has been battling “knee pain” for the entire season, and he even had an ice pack on the knee yesterday morning. Now, it seems like there is a chance that he can end up on the Disabled List with this injury that I think is a big fat lie.
