The Seattle Mariners and Kansas City Royals battle it out with something to prove. The Mariners are coming off of two straight losses to the rival Texas Rangers and will have to show the rest of the A.L. that they are indeed going to stick around for the rest of the season by beating the surprising K.C. Royals. Seattle sends pitcher Carolos Silva to the mound. Silva hasn’t had much success this season going 1-and-2 with a 7.36 ERA and a WHIP of 1.48.
The Royals counter Silva with pitcher Sidney Ponson. Ponson is already 0-and-4 on the season. His ERA is 7.16 and his WHIP is 1.66.
