SF Giants News and Notes: Howry Is Terrible and Velez Should Be Cut

The Giants have split the first two games against the first-place Dodgers, and they have a good chance of winning the series tonight with Tim Lincecum on the mound.

Eric Stults, a lefty, will start for the Dodgers. It will be interesting to see if Travis Ishikawa starts tonight at first base.

Stults does better against right-handed hitters than left-handed hitters but Bruce Bochy started Rich Aurilia over Ishikawa earlier this year against him.

Left-handed hitters are hitting .333 against Stults, while right-handed hitters are batting .255.

Bob Howry was a terrible pick-up by GM Brian Sabean. Howry is now 0-2 with a 4.32 ERA after taking the loss last night against the Dodgers. Howry could be ...
