Sneaky McLouth Trade Just The Pirates Way Of Alienating More Fans

The administrative body behind the Pittsburgh Pirates is in the wrong business. It should be making movies, specifically one titled “How To Lose Fans and Alienate People.”

As clear as its been the past 16 seasons the organization is incapable of running a professional sports franchise, it became even more apparent Wednesday night when the team quietly traded Nate McLouth to the Atlanta Braves for three potential prospects.

You have to hand it to the Buccos, though. If the franchise has learned anything from its almost two-decades-long drought of winning, it’s been a thing or two about avoiding public relations nightmares.

The McLouth trade conveniently was made official just before 7 p.m...
