The Jose Reyes Chronicles: Extremely Off Balance

It is quite apparent that Jose Reyes is in quite the slump at the moment. We have watched his average dip down beneath .260, and Reyes is clearly frustrated at the plate. The Mets are going to need him to straighten himself out if they want to keep pace with the other teams in the NL East.

Over his last 29 at-bats, Reyes only has three hits, and he has struck out five times in that span. In fact, Reyes hasn’t had a two-hit game since Apr. 21 against St. Louis. That is just unacceptable.

If I am an opposing pitcher, I would not throw a fastball in the strike zone to Jose right now. He seems to be sitting on that one pitch only, and all of the off speed junk seems to be having him off balance.
