The Mets Should Rebuild Now

The New York Mets have been a struggling franchise the past few years. After being ousted from the playoffs in 2006, they have stumbled their way to mediocrity by missing the playoffs through historic collapses the past two years.

The team has multiple problems that GM Omar Minaya has failed to address, and he's in the process of running the franchise into the ground through silly contract extensions, free agent signings, and dumb trades. The Mets next course of action should be firing Minaya and starting over.

Last year, the Mets brought in Johan Santana in a deal that looked like a way to save the Mets. This deal was a stroke of brilliance by Minaya.
