The 2009 baseball season will probably be best remembered for the opening of not one, but two brand new baseball stadiums in New York City, the first time the city has seen this kind of capital investment in a sports facility since the renovation of Yankee Stadium in 1973.

New York now has two of the nicest places to play and that should further help both New York clubs attract better players during free agency.

For the first time in a long time, New York teams are not the owners of the worst baseball facilities in MLB! But cities such as Chicago, Boston, and Los Angeles now occupy the title of baseball towns with stadiums and parks that need a much needed face lift.
