Yankees-Indians: Pettitte Takes Down Lee in Pitcher’s Duel

Both the Indians and the Yankees were hot coming into game one of a four game set at Cleveland, but New York was hotter.

The Yankees were able to make it happen Friday night at Progressive Field, beating the Indians 3-1.

Andy Pettitte threw five scoreless innings before being forced out of the game, with stiffness in his back, picking up his fifth win of the season.

Jorge Posada returned to the lineup for the Yanks Friday night, contributing two hits for New York.

Mariano Rivera pitched the ninth and picked up his ninth save in ten chances this season.
