Ron Artest had 27 points as the Houston Rockets outscored the Portland Trail Blazers 31-18 in the second quarter, and advanced to the second round with a 92-76 victory in Game Six.
The Rockets have not advanced past the first round since the 1996-97 playoff season when they advanced to the Western Conference finals. The win gave Yao Ming and Shane Battier their first appearance in the second round.
The Rockets started quickly, going on a 7-2 run to open the game. The Trail Blazers would tie the game two minutes later. LaMarcus Aldridge scored Portland’s first four points of the game, and he made a jump shot to give Portland their first lead, 11-9...
