Kobe in Control as the Lakers Crush the Jazz in Game One.

Kobe Bryant scored 24 points and had eight assists as the Los Angeles Lakers eased past the Utah Jazz 113-100 to take game one of the best-of-seven first round playoff series.

Trevor Ariza added a career-high 21 points and shot 8-10 from the field, which included going 3-4 from three-point land. Pau Gasol had 20 points and nine rebounds for the Lakers.

Statistically, Utah performed well. They out-rebounded the Lakers (46-38) and had more assists (28-22), while also committing few turnovers (14-17).

It all counted for little however, as Utah's shooting was woeful. The Jazz made only 39 percent of their field goals compared to a sizzling 56 percent by the Lakers.
