Favre is officially the Michael Jordan of football, but even Jordan actually left basketball a couple years before coming out of his second retirement.
Though I believe Favre truly didn't plan on playing this season, his unexpected release from the New York Jets gave him the option to play for the team he wanted to play for a year ago in Minnesota.
