Getting Past “One Yard Short” as a Tennessee Titans Fan

Even the most casual of football fans remembers that Super Bowl and that play.

With the Tennessee Titans trailing the St. Louis Rams 23 to 16 with just seconds left in Super Bowl XXX, Steve McNair hit Kevin Dyson on a quick in route. Had Dyson run the route slightly different, had McNair thrown the ball a little more in front of him, the result might have been different.

But it wasn't, and so the team I had grown up idolizing, after surviving the torturous 2-14 season in 1994 with way too many tears shed, had come up one measly yard short in their first (and yes, so far only) Super Bowl appearance.
