Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio suffered through a disappointing 2008, and two of his top assistants left him. The new faces are defensive coordinator Mel Tucker, who replaced Gregg Williams (now in New Orleans), and special teams coordinator Russ Purnell.
Del Rio is back for his seventh season. He’s definitely on the hot seat. Del Rio, who owns a 50-46 career record, needs to bounce back from last year’s 5-11 mark that matched the worst of his tenure. He also guided a 5-11 squad in his first year in 2003. Jacksonville originally hired Del Rio to replace the franchise’s first coach, Tom Coughlin.
