1. Detroit Lions - MATTHEW STAFFORD, QB, GEORGIA
Though I'd rather see Detroit trade down (swap slots with Cleveland for Derrick Anderson?), or get Curry/Smith/Monroe, I see them buckling under media pressure.
The team needs good press desperately, and you know the draft pundits will railroad them for passing on a QB (the media's lovechild).
Stafford has good tools and a chippy attitude with leadership skills. I'm not in love with him, and think there are better QB's who will last pretty deep into the draft, but Detroit will hope Stafford isn't a stronger-armed version of Joey Harrington or...
