A new beginning hopefully spells c-h-a-m-p-i-o-n-s-h-i-p.

It happened just like that. You turn on ESPN and on the ticker at the bottom, it says 'the Chiefs have traded Tony Gonzalez to the Falcons for a second round draft pick.'

Tony Gonzalez: The NFL's all-time leading receiver for tight ends. That guy. He will now be catching passes from Matt Ryan and blocking for Michael Turner and Jerious Norwood. It's pretty obvious how much better Gonzalez makes the Falcons, but how much better, exactly?

Let's start with what a tight end does. He blocks on running plays and he catches balls  on intermediate routes that gain between four to eight yards, over the middle usually, and creates short down situations....
