Why a Seventh Playoff Seed Makes Sense for the NFL

It's a bloody shame when a 8-8 team gets into the playoffs, and a 11-5 team doesn't.  It happens every other year.  This past year the 11-5 Patriots missed the playoff, while the 8-8 Chargers did.  

There is a simple solution to this matter.  There should be a third wild card, a seventh seed. The seventh and sixth seeds could play a wild-card round, a week before the regular playoffs. Like how the last seed in the NCAA basketball tournament.  

Can you imagine if a whole division went to the playoffs?  How exciting would that be?
