Bruins on Verge of Winning First Playoff Series in 10 Years

After 10 years of playoff failure, the Boston Bruins are on the verge of winning their first playoff series. The Bruins haven't won a playoff series since 1999 when they defeated the Carolina Hurricanes four games to two. Since then the Bruins have gone to the playoffs four times and each time lost in the first round.

In 2002 the Bruins gained the No. 1 seed with 101 points only to be upset by the Montreal Canadiens four games to two. This was the beginning of three straight playoff series losses.
