Former Philadelphia Flyer Peter Zezel Dies at 44

Sad news out of Toronto today as former Flyer Peter Zezel has died in a hospital as a result of a rare blood disorder.

It was reported earlier in the day that Zezel, 44, was going to be taken off life support by mid-afternoon. His family removed him from life-support early this evening. Zezel had fought the disorder, hemolytic anemia, for the last decade. But, obviously and unfortunately this time, he lost the battle.

Zezel was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in 1983. He was popular with the fans and also extremely popular with the female Flyers fans because of his charming good looks.
