Negotiations have been heavy for the last couple days, but it's about to be official.

The Flyers will sign angered, former Ottawa Senators goaltender Ray Emery to most likely be the starting netminder for the 2009-2010 season.

The Flyers GM Paul Holmgren declined to comment.

“We’ve had conversations with his agent about a lot of things,” Holmgren said. “But I’m not going to comment on our internal discussions of players.”

Emery's agent, J.P. Barry, has informed Comcast's Tim Panaccio that he is extremely confident that a deal will be reached.

"Paul (Holmgren) has done due diligence on Ray. I'm hopeful it will lead to a contract."
