Malkin Scores Overtime Game-Winner, Penguins Lead Series Over Capitals

Evgeni Malkin scored a power play goal three minutes into overtime and the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Washington Capitals 4-3 in their own arena to take a 3-2 lead in their quarterfinal Stanley Cup series.

Alexander Ovechkin had two goals on a dozen attempts plus one assist to keep the Capitals in the game, including the goal that sent the game into overtime with four minutes left to play in the third period.

The Penguins out-shot the Capitals 42-31 in the game. The Penguins out-shot the Caps 4-0 in overtime.

Pittsburgh had the Caps on their heels for most of the game. The Penguins won their third game in a row to take a come-from-behind series lead.
