Forget about the point that the New York Rangers managed to get in their shootout loss to the Atlanta Thrashers on Monday night.

Though every single point is precious in today’s National Hockey League, the bigger story was the fact that the Rangers, who took a total of 48 shots-on-goal, had once again failed to score more than two goals in a game.

This inability to score has doomed the Rangers through the first 32 games of the 2009-10 season. The Rangers have scored two goals or fewer for the 16th time in their last 20 games.
