It was reported today that Patrick Roy has turned down an offer from the Colorado Avalanche to assume both Head Coaching and General Manager's duties, a generous and flattering offer indeed.
Roy has stated that he refused the position after considering it for two weeks. Ultimately he felt he would be happier staying with his current team, the QMJHL's Quebec Remparts.
"My quality of life here in Quebec City is extraordinary. I adore this adventure, I adore working with youth. For me it's a daily challenge—working to help these youths realize their dreams."
