NHL Playoff Scheduling Blunders

There has been plenty of well-deserved criticism of the National Hockey League's current television contract with Comcast-owned Versus.  

The NHL took the extra money from Comcast and shunned ESPN which is where the league cannot afford not to be.  However, that is a story that has been well-covered already.  

Versus cannot be blamed for the scheduling blunders of the Eastern Conference semi-finals which are taking place on the same days.  

Games 2, 3 and 4 in both series involving the Capitals-Penguins and Hurricanes-Bruins had been scheduled for 7:00 PM EDT and 7:30PM EDT respectively and all teams are located in the Eastern Time Zone. Is this the best the NHL could do to minimize ov...
