Fans are the group of people cheering for their team when it scores a touchdown or goal. Fans wear their team's colors through thick and thin.

In sports, you can say there are a group of fanbases whose stadiums you already know you don't want to visit with the wrong colors. I would never want to go to Fenway Park wearing a New York Yankees hat. I would never go to a Phillies game wearing a Mets jersey. And now, I would never wear an Alexander Ovechkin shirt to Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh.
