GM Mike Gillis has already gone on record that he will not approach any of the Nucks players to waive their no-trade contracts. Three of those exist that I know of and one of those includes Roberto Luongo’s at $7.5M.
So what to do if Louie balks at an extension come July 1? Surely you can’t let him walk after next season for nothing. If Luongo does not feel that the Canucks can take him to the promise land, might he suggest that he would like to play for another team.
Seems highly unlikely, being the captain and all, but he is driven...
