The Curse Of Marian Hossa

For the second year in a row, Marian Hossa stood on the ice as a Stanley Cup loser.

At this time last year, Hossa sat and watched as the Detroit Red Wings celebrated their Stanley cup victory on the Pittsburgh Penguins' home ice at Mellon Arena. Hossa, set to become a free agent, decided if you can't beat them, join them, turning down a seven-year, $49 million contract with the Penguins for a one-year, $7.45 million contract.

“I wanted the best chance to win the Stanley Cup and I feel like Detroit is the team,” Hossa said after signing his contract. “I know I could get more money somewhere else [Pittsburgh, Edmonton], but the thing that I was looking for for myself was to win the Stanley Cup".
