While we all wish the Boston Bruins were playing tonight in Game Four against the Pittsburgh Penguins; May 26 still has historical significance in the Hub of Hockey.

 

1930: Bruins Lorne Ferguson was born today in Palmerston, Ontario, Canada. The LW played in 201 games in Black and Gold from 1949-56—registering 47 goals and 41 assists. Ferguson was then traded to the Detroit Red Wings midway though the 1955-56 campaign.

 

1959: Pat Riggin was born on this day in Kincardine, Ontario, Canada. The Bruins acquired Riggin from the Washington Capitals during the 1985-86 season for net-minder Pete Peeters. Riggin played 49 games between the pipes for the B's, posting a 20-17-9 record ...
